Counselor, Meredith Osbourne
Hours: T/W 8:00am - 4:00pm, Th/F 9:30am - 1:30pm
My name is Meredith and I am excited to serve as your school counselor. I grew up in Seattle, and have lived in West Seattle for the last three years. I have a graduate degree in school counseling from Gonzaga University and 8 years of counseling experience K-8 in the Issaquah School District. Working in my own neighborhood is a dream come true, especially with such a welcoming and inclusive school community.
I chose the school counseling profession for a number of reasons. First, and most importantly, I find great joy in supporting students on a daily basis and being involved with their education and emotional well-being. Second, I value working together with a larger support system of teachers, administrators, staff, and families. Third, I appreciate the opportunity to work with a diverse population of students. Lastly, I enjoy wearing many hats (e.g. educator, facilitator, counselor, etc.).
As a school counselor, I want to work with you, your child, staff members, and the community to support your student in acquiring the knowledge and skills that will increase their understanding of and respect for themselves and others. As they begin to recognize the relationship between personal qualities, education, training, and the world of work, I will help them learn to make wise decisions, set goals, and take the necessary action to be successful and achieve their future aspirations.
To reach all students, I support the implementation of a Comprehensive Counseling Program. It is an organized approach that proactively responds to the needs of the school community. By providing individual and group counseling, offering referral resources, planning with students individually or in small groups, and delivering guidance curriculum to students, staff, and parents, I will work to ensure students’ personal, social, and academic success.
I look forward to working with you and your child. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns. Have a safe and wonderful school year!
All the best,
